About Us

Engineers Without Borders at The George Washington University is a collegiate, student-run organization. Our goal is to provide members with a way to extend their engineering knowledge beyond the classroom while expanding their global perspectives and giving back to the community. We believe that by allying our students with industry professionals, academics, and community members we can maximize our potential for learning and success. Our goal is to design and implement sustainable engineering solutions in local and international communities. Our international programs have included battling growing water scarcity of Udaipur, India, and protecting public health implementing compost latrines in La Peña, El Salvador. Locally, we have volunteered to clean up aquatic gardens, constructed a solar table on campus, and more. 

Our Partnerships

udaipur Partnership

The Udaipur water management partnership was initiated in the spring of 2017. Our diligent student - professional allied team has been working in conjunction with local NGO Jagran Jan Vikas Samiti and the village of Bhutiya to devise solutions for community water needs.

yumbe partnership

This is our newest partnership! Nested Savings, an Ugandan NGO, approached us to work together to design and construct a new Learning Center in Yumbe, Uganda equipped with educational, career, and political resources for the members of the community.

local partnerships

The GWU team is committed to involvement in the local community both on campus and in the DC Metro area. Local involvement ranges from supporting on-campus engineering projects to STEM tutoring to D.C. clean-up volunteer work.
